Every time I find a decent No. 12 saw that doesn't need much work I pick it up. This was one of Disston's high-end saws and the fit and finish shows it. This particular saw has been in my collection for a couple of years now.  It's a pre-1917 No. 12 26". When I found it, there wasn't a lot of work to be done to make it into a beautiful user or collector saw. The plate is almost full width(maybe 1/16" shy) and still has most of it's sheen, with the exception of a few stains. The etch is 99% in-tact and can easily be read. There's a small dent on the toe of the saw(very common for these) that a previous owner did a decent job of removing. It in no way affects the cutting of the saw and could even be fixed or filed down to remove it. Besides this, the plate is straight and true . The handle was in amazing condition with the exception of one small chip on the upper horn, so I repaired it and blended it into the handle and now it's hard to pick out. The teeth were in okay shape, but needed to be tuned a bit, so I jointed, sharpened and set it back to it's original 7tpi rip configuration. This is in my top 3 of best working saws that I have owned and the only reason I'm selling it is because my collection is ever-growing and I don't have much room. I took the pictures outside to try and highlight all the good and bad things, but the saw looks 100 times better in person. Every saw I sell ships in a custom made box to make sure that the saw arrives to you in the exact same condition it leave my shop in. Please read reviews and feedback of my saws, I take a lot of pride in my abilities and promise that you will get one of the best working saws you'll ever own.  Whoever owned this saw previously took great care of it and with the work that I have done on it, it's ready for another 100+ years of work
